How do you know if your air conditioner unit will be in need of repair? There are quite a few warning signs to keep in mind.
One of the most common issues is that your air conditioner is leaking. If it is leaking, then it is leaking water. Your air conditioner may be leaking refrigerant or coolant but that is something you would not see because refrigerant evaporates almost immediately once it touches the open air. If it is leaking refrigerant then look at the unit for oil stains or run a leak detector through it. Leak detectors will show colored dye where ever there may be a leak.
If your AC unit is leaking water then there are a few things it could be. One possibility is that the condenser pump is broken which means the refrigerant is not moving through the system as it should. Another reason could be a blockage in either the drain hole or one of the internal drains. If it is the drain whole then after about 30 minutes of operation look at drain pan. It should have water in it but not enough to overflow. Internal drains can be found in various places, depending on the make and model of the air conditioner. It is best to check your manual to see that it is connected.'nbsp;
